Milwood United Methodist Church occupies the ancestral, traditional, and contemporary lands of the Bodwéwadmi.
Since time immemorial Bodwéwadmi, Neshnabék, and other neshnabék have called what is now the City of Kalamazoo home.
The church resides on Land that was coercively ceded under the 1821 Treaty of Chicago.
Our congregation recognizes, supports, and advocates for the sovereignty of Michigan’s Tribal Nations
and the Tribal Nations who were forcibly removed from their homelands.
